On Friday last week we travelled up to Burnley for the promotion of the new ŠKODA Fabia Monte Carlo. We set up a three table show, including: roulette, blackjack and craps and added the additional props of a grand red carpet entrance, 4 giant playing cards, 2 dice on poles and 2 casino signs.

The whole set up looked fantastic. We provided a PA System with speakers and a microphone to be used for any announcements that were to be made; the ŠKODA team were happy for the additional extra and took advantage of our ’sound system’ when making their speeches.

As the guests arrived the rat pack music played and the photographer made full use of photographing guests arriving along the red carpet. The casino opened at 7pm and was heaving with guests spending their personalised fun money, which they got back as a memento of the night.

I played a few extra games with the guests on the roulette table I was dealing, which worked fab and got the different groups of people in teams together shouting red and black at the wheel; even the more timid people of the group came out of there shell and were shouting with excitement by the end of the night.

Andy (the casino manager) fluttered around showing magic tricks to the amazed guests, free of charge, before the casino started and as it closed. The microphone’s got full use again as the prizes for the casino winners were announced; second place a bottle of bubbly and first place £250 for a charity of the winner’s choice.

Overall it was a brilliant night, and I can honestly, hand on heart say, that there was not one person that didn’t get involved; even the ŠKODA staff came over to play alongside their guests. It was a fun night, possibly one of my favourite to date.
